Harley Davidson Motorcycle Parts

I friggin love my Harley Motorcycle and that is the reason for this website, and secondly to provide sources for Harley Davidson Motorcycle Parts and accessories that might be difficult to find for older models. We will also be doing some bike reviews on the newer models and occasionally review products if we can get our hands on them, but before we go here is the story of how I finally got my first Harley…

I started riding bikes in high school, I think if my memory serves me right my first bike was a Yamaha 250, and before you start laughing it was over 30 years ago and it was my first, and the only reason I bought it was my brother bought it, decided he couldn’t afford to keep it, sold it to me and went out and bought a Yamaha Maxim 550 ( bastard ) It was a good bike, had a few starter problems but nothing that couldn’t be solved by running it down the street and jump starting it in first gear…..until I got pulled over by the cops for riding a motorcycle on a sidewalk and got a ticket, I then decided to trade it off on my first car, which is another story all together.

The next experience was my girlfriends brothers BMW 1000, a beautiful machine and to this day could never figure out why he would have let a doorknob like me take it for a drive…damn, the thing was a monster to me back then, and heavy as a Sherman tank. But man, did it have the power, kinda like strapping a titan in between your legs and hitting the switch. I had always seen Harley’s back in those days but then it was always for biker gangs or bad boys or untouchable at that point in my life, or as Butters from South Park would say…he isn’t a biker yet but he is definitely Bikecurios…

Then as life progressed it was a series of short lived bike experiences, Honda’s, Triumphs, etc and then about 10 years ago had a little cash and purchased a Yamaha Shadow ACE 750 and she was definitely a pretty thing, black with shiny chrome everywhere you looked and it was the perfect bike at the perfect time…so why didn’t I get a Harley you ask? It’s my story so shut up and wait…suffice to say I did not have the cash for the dream machine at that point in life.

It had been a few years since I had a bike so it took a little while to re acclimate to the life, ad I certainly missed it. I am one of those biker fools that doesn’t wear a helmet, I do not like the lose of peripheral vision or the lose of hearing from the helmets, a totally stupid reason I know and everyone that rides with me I force a helmet on, but what are you gonna do? Stupid habits die hard…

I took the Shadow on a few short road trips and was pretty happy with the way it handled, but there was always a nagging feeling that the bike was neither heavy enough or powerful enough for true long range road trips so that is why I always stayed relatively close to home. I was looking forward to a road trip to visit some friends in California but I determined the bike was just not big enough for that long a trip…so I started on my quest for a bigger bike, and I am sure you can see where this is heading.

I am sure at this point that you are asking yourself…If this website is about Harley’s, why the heck are we talking about every other motorcycle under the sun. Simple, Harley Davidson’s are the pinnacle of bikes, an American Standard and a bike that defines the American biker, it is also expensive as hell and worth every cent, and I never had that large of a chunk of disposable income at any one time to run into a dealership and plop it down on a desk for a new bike.

Some things take awhile to come and are worth the wait and this was definitely one of those cases. My next installment I will go into the process of finding my dream bike, so don’t’ forget to check back often to Harley Davidson Motorcycle Parts for the second installment of “Harley Dreams” I have my eye on a couple of models and will be going with an old school model and not one of those fancy hi tech jobs…you can leave those to them yuppie bastards and their BMW’s..

Harley Davidson Motorcycle parts will focus on parts for old Harleys like motorbike parts, exhausts, seats, mirrors, tires, engine parts, aftermarket Harley parts and twin cam engine parts and whatever we can find that we think might be of interest to those in search of quality Harley Davidson Motorcycle parts.
